Oct. 20th - Prompt: Think of a fictional character, celebrity, or historical figure you can relate to. Create an allusion that connects your personality or experiences to that person. Explain why you chose that reference.

I sometimes feel like Sherlock Holmes when playing chess because I enjoy analyzing situations and thinking several steps ahead. I chose this allusion because I relate to his logical thinking and ability to solve difficult problems.

On October 20th, we learned about allusions and discussed connotation and denotation, focusing on how words can have both literal and implied meanings.

This lesson helped me understand how allusions and word choice can add deeper meaning to writing and influence how readers interpret ideas.
